Timeline of all designs

  1. First I had created the characters basic Idea, that being that he's a necromancer then I created the object that he holds after that fact.
  2. Next I worked on his design which is seen on the concept art and the design process, the design I had went with was a completely void like body with a upside down triangle eye.
  3. After the first character was finished I moved onto creating the second character, of which I decided to go with an angel like appearance.
  4. I then went for a mechanical design with a crystal floating above with it having lore implications to the characters story.
  5. finally, I created a bunch of designs for the character to show him slowly degrading the more damage he takes.
  6. after this i worked on the dvd covers.

First design: Azrael / arch necromancer + the Warhammer Judgement (dark demon necromancer)

This design is my first design and includes both the demon necromancer and a Warhammer now called Judgement while he is now called Azrael, which is an attempt to reference the concept of death because it is associated with it. As for the design, I decided on a more cartoonish style to make it easier to add extra detail as well as being able to actually make the design instead of generating a concept via ai, allowing me to fully control the final design. As well as the actual character, they are made of solely black and white colors, the shapes making up their body are mostly sharp to convey a dangerous character and the colors are made to make the character more menacing. As for the background, it is supposed to be a destroyed kingdom, although the original idea was a dark tower and only the tower but the surrounding was very barren so a destroyed kingdom made sense to add some more depth to the background. After this I worked on the sky next, and I decided on making it filled with stars with a dark cloud above, as for the moon I decided to make it a green color to try and show the green coloring of the area off as well as being shattered to play into the other character I had made being on the moon so it helps add more to the background. As for the in world reason for all this, the necromancer is actually a knight of the kingdom, however when he found an item, it not only corrupts him, but it also corrupted the very land around him, the item being an ancient crystal artifact similar to the second characters item, but with a few different affects, for example, the crystal did not control but rather corrupted the soul of the character using him as a servant to carry out its bidding. In this case, he is being used to harvest life for the body the other is creating. And the hammers explanation is that it originally was his weapon before being corrupted however now it has been turned into a tool for destroying kingdoms. The actual use of the object in-game is as a main weapon for destroying structures and fighting.

Second design: Malachi / false angel + the dark crystal

This design was my second design and was based on the more biblically accurate angels, or at least was supposed to mimic the design of them, as for the multiple designs of

the character it is supposed to be the gimmick that I had thought up of for the character, the design of the character is meant to be a metallic design of the angel form which is meant be based on the targets specific deities in order to, while not very effective lull the target into a false sense of security, it can also be used or interpreted as a way of mocking the targets beliefs in an attempt to make the target reckless and predictable, as for the crystals purpose, it is actually the one controlling the character. The real character is more of an animal rather than a character, as for the crystal, the crystal wants to gain a form of its own to wreak havoc, thus it is using the false angel to harvest resources to build itself a body. The origin of the character is a creature that normally absorb stars at the size they are at, however the crystal makes the creature want to absorb as much as it can resulting in it devouring entire universes over time however it does not become satiated due to the crystal taking all of its energy and using it to build its own body, however it does allow the angel to use its strength, this is the character and items general explanation. As for the background, it is meant to be absorbing the moon of the necromancer's world, and when it's finished it would move on to the planet. And for the in-game use, the crystal serves as an ability for the player to use which charges up a different ability for each phase for example the first phase is draining unit health for temporary buffs, then it changes to a laser that also drains unit health, then it becomes a extremely powerful shockwave that has a visible kill radius to balance it and gives players some time to react to the attack, however it also destroys all structures, making it a great crowd control tool as well as a good way to demolish structures.
