Home Limveld Nightfarers Nightlords
Limveld is the primary map in NIGHTREIGN. In its base form, it consists of a massive island based on Limgrave from base game ELDEN RING. If you have played the base game, you’ll recognise some of the areas slightly changed but still recognisable. Upon Limveld are multiple POIs, ranging from forts, camps, churches, cathedrals, along with the main castle in the center. After 5 minutes of dropping in. The night will begin to encroach, limiting the total playeable area. After 10 minutes this will happen again but will leave only a small circle where players will have to face a night boss in. After this the cycle repeats for day 2. With the end of day two, players will ascend to the spirit shelter. A refill area right before the Nightlord of the chosen expedition.
Shifting earths are events that can affect the layout of Limveld on your next run. There are 5 in total, 4 in the base game and 1 in the DLC.
The crater changes the northern center part of the map into a massive volcanic crater. Filled with magma and erupting fire. Tough foes can be found above, but descending into the crater reveals a forge that can be used to upgrade any weapon of your choice to legendary. That is if you’re able to kill the massive magma wyrm at the bottom first!
The mountaintops take over the north-western side of Limveld, creating jagged snowy peaks. Ascending the mountains, you’ll face a couple of litter bosses, but the main prize is the crystal at the top known as the favor of the mountaintops that gives players more frostbite resistance. Useful for killing the frost dragon that constantly patrols the high parts of the mountains.
The rotted woods control the south-east side of the map. Changing it into a scarlet rot infested forest filled with high-tier bosses. By even stepping foot into the woods, you’ll start to be afflicted by scarlet rot. The key is to find the favor of the rotted woods. This can be located naturally but can be located by looting the fort upon the hill deep within the woods.
Noklateo is a massive unseen citadel that takes up the south-west corner of the map. The centeral castle is even removed to make space for it. Within its walls lie numerous treasures, but the city itself is a massive maze filled with powerful foes. Two treasures within Noklateo are the most important, one being the favor of Noklateo, the shrouded city, allowing players to resurrect upon defeat with a one-time health boost. The second, being an altar that allows for the duplication of a weapon.
The great hollow is a complete overhaul to the base game map, transforming it into a massive underground chasm. Within the chasm are two massive forts that are cursed to half the player’s maximum hp. Between these forts lie a great crystal. Players must run around the map and find smaller crystals and resonate with them in order to break the giant crystal. Doing so will allow players to jump onto the remains and acquire the favor of the Great Hollow, which not only removes the halved health penalty within the forts, but also fully restores the art gauge upon drinking all the player’s flasks. Within the forts are the main castle and a tower. The castle has numerous foes around that when slain will summon a powerful boss at the top of the castle. Within the tower is a mini boss rush consisting of 3 different night bosses. Killing these not only grant rewards but at the top the players can acquire the False Vision of a Great Rune buff, which enhances your art’s auto charge speed and gives bonus murk after the expedition.
