PlayStation 1

The PlayStation 1 first released in Japan on 3 December 1994. A year later it launched in North America on 9 September 1995, then in Europe it was released a month later on 29 September 1995.

Note: the euro wasn't used during this time.

During the release of the PlayStation 1, the euro didn't exist yet. It was introduced electronically in 1994, but wasn't introduced physcially until 2002. Because of that, no euro figures can be given for the European region of this time. Instead, GBP will be used in place of it. But if were to follow the patterns of given prices, it would be the same as USD and GBP.

PlayStation 2

Since the success of PlayStation 1's release, the PlayStation 2 was a naturtal course of action. It was first released in Japan on 4 March 2000. Then a following release in North America on 26 October 2000, Euorpe on 24 Novmeber 2000, and also Australia on 30 November 2000.

This generation of console would go on to become the best-selling console in history.

PlayStation 3

PlayStation was still going strong with its previous releases (PS1 / PS2) and now came the PlayStation 3. First it released in Japan on 11 November 2006, then in North America on 17 Novmeber 2006. Then finally it was released in Europe and Australia on 23 March 2007.

PlayStation 4

A few years later and the PlayStation 4 was now born, taking technology to a newer level. It first released in North America on 15 November 2013, then 29 November 2013 in Europe, South America and Australia. Then on 22 February 2014, it was finally released in Japan.

PlayStation 5

Now, the latest of them all, the PlayStation 5, pushing the limits of gaming technology on consoles. This was first released in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, North America and South Korea on 12 November 2020. Then a week later it was released to the rest of the wolrd.
