Rise Of The Fenix

What Is Rise Of The Fenix?

Rise of the Fenix is the third album by Tenacious D and was released in 2012. The name and title track are a response to how their last album, The Pick of Destiny, was both a box office failure for the movie tie in, and a critcial failure. The cover of this album is also noticeable as the Fenix is meant to represent a penis in shape. On most if not all streaming services, this is censored with a pixel blur.
There is a clean version of the album that cuts out all the swearing and profanity, including censoring the name of track 11 They Fucked Our Asses.

Critics Said

From The Rock Father, Review By James Zahn
The Bottom Line: The D hath Risen once more – but will the audience be listening? For the power of rock, I sure hope so.
From The Music, Review By Staff Writer
A friend of mine, and long time fan of Tenacious D, summed this record up for me fairly well before I had even heard it, he said The D are still awesome, but I like what they do less and less. This pretty much nails it as fans of the band will always have a soft spot for their humour, but it is pretty clear now that they will never be able to replicate what once was.
From The Argonaut, Review By Anthony Saia
Ultimately the album is fun but doesn’t have the lasting appeal that the band’s debut record had. In ten years, it’s likely that people will still remember Fuck Her Gently but I doubt many will recall Low Hangin’ Fruit.
